May feels different.
Not quiet like the months before. Not slow.
There is movement everywhere.
Golden Week arrives, and suddenly the island changes.
The roads feel busier. The beaches fill up again.
Voices return. Laughter carries further.
You can feel it — the island is awake.
Restaurants are full. Tours are running nonstop.
Shops open early, close late, and keep going.
There’s no pause. Just motion.
And behind all of it are the people.
Working, moving, serving, preparing.
Doing their part, every day, without stopping.
This island may be small, but the effort here is big.
There’s something powerful about watching people push forward.
Trying to do better. Trying to build something.
I find myself appreciating that more than anything.
Not just the views. Not just the ocean.
But the people who keep everything moving.
It’s busy. Sometimes overwhelming.
But it’s also alive.
And I like seeing the island this way.
Full of energy. Full of effort.
Full of people showing up.
This is Miyakojima too.
